WITHMOM CARE · DOULA COST QUESTIONS
Can Carrot benefits or insurance help pay for a postpartum doula?
Help with postpartum doula costs depends on your employer benefit or health insurance plan and the individual providing care. Carrot benefits and health insurance coverage are separate. A doula credential alone does not confirm eligibility, reimbursement or an approved amount. Check with your own plan before starting services.

What should I check when choosing a certified postpartum doula?
WithMom Care offers consultations for non-medical, in-home mother and newborn support in Bergen and Hudson Counties, NJ, and Queens, NY. Availability depends on your address, day or night schedule and caregiver availability.
Director Sinok Kang holds the individual ProDoula CD-PIC credential. This does not mean every caregiver at the company has that credential or the same benefit eligibility. Confirm the individual who will actually provide your care.
Check employer benefits and health insurance separately
If you use Carrot, ask your own employer plan about the postpartum doula service, the individual doula, available benefits and required documents before care begins. This inquiry concerns the director’s doula service; it is not an approval of the entire company or Korean Postpartum Care. WithMom is not affiliated with Carrot.
For health insurance, ask your insurer or plan administrator separately about postpartum doula coverage, prior authorization, provider requirements, your share of the cost and the submission process. A WithMom quote is not an insurer’s approval of payment.
Questions to prepare before your consultation
Ask which postpartum doula services and individual providers qualify, whether approval is needed before starting, what you would pay, and what the invoice and receipt must contain. Confirm benefit-eligible hours separately from your chosen care schedule.
An invoice requests payment; a receipt documents a confirmed payment. Ask your plan which documents it needs and when to submit them. Documents must match the actual services, hours, provider and payment history.
Discuss care and costs with WithMom
Share your day or night care needs, expected due date, location and preferred language. Combined Day + Night care uses two different caregivers, so ask about eligibility for each individual and service. A combined quote or invoice does not combine provider approvals.
Do not put insurance documents, member numbers or health information in public comments or search tools. Use your plan’s designated private process for any personal documents it requires.
Frequently asked questions
Does a certified postpartum doula automatically qualify for my benefits?
No. Confirm the individual caregiver’s credential and your plan’s provider requirements. The director’s personal credential or eligibility does not automatically extend to another caregiver.
Will Carrot reimburse all postpartum doula costs?
We cannot confirm an amount for every family. Check your own employer plan, individual doula and service. A WithMom consultation or quote does not confirm Carrot approval or payment.
Does health insurance cover a postpartum doula in New Jersey?
Ask your own insurer or plan administrator about covered services, provider requirements, prior authorization, your share of the cost and required documents. Check health insurance separately from Carrot employer benefits.
Does the same Carrot eligibility apply to Korean Postpartum Care?
We do not make that claim. Korean Postpartum Care and Certified Postpartum Doula Care are separate services. A determination concerning the director’s doula service does not approve the whole company or other services.
